The Inkubator is no longer open for submissions. We will be ending our subscription service after 2023.
After much careful thought, the Inkubator team has made the decision that 2023 will be our last year as a subscription service. We’ve had a wonderful four years with your support, surpassing our original goal of spending two years publishing new and emerging women and nonbinary constructors.
Some of the exciting initiatives we’ve worked on since our 2018 Kickstarter include: our 2022 book, Inkubator Crosswords: 100 Audacious Puzzles from Women and Nonbinary Creators (Andrews-McMeel Universal); syndicated puzzles in national publications such as Marie Claire and Atlas Obscura; cosponsorship of puzzle events like Lollapuzzoola, the Crossword Tournament from Your Couch, and Boswords; and fundraiser puzzles for V-Day and the White Dress Project. And many of our constructors have gone on to become familiar names at other crossword outlets, while some have even become editors and producers of new puzzle projects.
The Inkubator will continue as a community of constructors, and we’re excited for future directions and collaborations. If you haven’t subscribed for 2023, you can do so on this page, plus get access to our full archive. We look forward to solving together with all of you this year.
